I have WMI enabled and also have started and configured Win RM per a KB article.The hosts fail Validation with the following error; - Failed to validate : Server side WMI error occurred: 0x00000005 I have tried multiple times, methods, and combinations of names, IP addresses, and FQDN's all with no luck and the above error being the most prevalent.I had hoped to use this product to replace PRTG in my environment, but if hosts are this difficult to ad I may have to rethink that decision.In our hybrid Exchange 2010 / Exchange Online environment, we occasionally need to place an Exchange 2010 mailbox on Litigation Hold.Sometimes there may be a need to rename the SQL Server Network Name for a failover cluster and in this tip we will walk through the steps needed to successfully rename the SQL Server Network Name for a failover cluster.The SQL Server Network Name is used to identify a failover cluster on the network.Once you click the "Apply" button, it will ask you to confirm this change as shown below. Although you will be able to make a connection using the new SQL Server Network Name, Microsoft recommends taking the SQL Server network resources offline and bringing them back online after the modification.
We can see that SQL Server is online on SQL-NODE2 from the below screenshot.
In some cases, that user’s mailbox will need to be removed but the Active Directory account will need to be retained.
Exchange 2010 will not allow a mailbox on Litigation Hold to be removed, so our practice has been to simply export the mailbox to PST for retention, manually remove the Litigation Hold, and then remove the mailbox.
This was known as the virtual SQL Server name in earlier versions of SQL Server failover clusters.
When you connect to SQL Server using this name, this will connect to the current online node.
