Apparently UK men are more likely to stick to traditional gender roles and contact a female first, whereas in the US anything goes.
They grow up developing friendships with the opposite sex and in turn, develop more empathy and understanding of the opposite sex.
The American men I've dated were (coincidentally) all from DC.
And overall, I found them swaggering, careerist, and utterly terrified of commitment.
